In a calm town in Valladolid, The Golden Books is Elena’s shelter. The first meeting of a book club seems like the beginning of a new era… until a US journalist is found dead in the bookstore. What at first looks like an asthma attack very soon starts to look like a murder tied to hidden secrets that might change everything. 

While writer Horacio León and a black cat help Elena put together the pieces of the puzzle, the members of the book club will soon realize that in Montealto everyone reads but almost no one is telling the truth.
