Born in 1981, he lived in Calpe until he moved to Tokyo in 2004, where he currently resides. After working at CERN in Switzerland and being part of the team that introduced Twitter in Japan, he left the tech industry to devote himself fully to writing.

Héctor is a global reference in Japanese popular culture and the author of The Magic of Japan, The Age of Eternity, and A Geek in Japan, among other books. Together with Francesc Miralles, he has co‑written Ikigai, The Ikigai Method, Ichigo-Ichie, Namasté, Shinrinyoku, and The Little Ikigai, all of them translated into dozens of languages and established as international bestsellers.
