Ingrid leads a peaceful life with Roshi, her adorable golden retriever. After years without leaving her hometown in Colorado, she accepts her brother’s invitation to celebrate the 4th of July in Virginia. There, the fireworks will scare Roshi and combined with a chase by a pack of dogs, he will inevitably get lost.
Devastated, Ingrid is forced to return to Colorado. However, Roshi will not give up and will embark on an odyssey across several states to reunite with her.
During his long journey, Roshi will live up to his name, which refers to the abbot of a Zen monastery, acting as a teacher in the various homes he passes through. And while he searches for his way back, he will be adopted by different families and some lonely souls, whom he will change with his incredible intelligence and kindness. Where will Roshi’s journey end?
