Marta R. Costa-Jussà holds a PhD from the Universidad Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC, Barcelona). She has worked as a researcher at LIMSI-CNRS (Paris), Barcelona Media Innovation Center, the Universidade de São Paulo, the Institute for Infocomm Research (Singapore), the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Mexico) and the University of Edinburgh. She is a professor at UPC in the area of artificial intelligence and co-leads the machine translation research group. She has received two Google Faculty Research Awards. She is currently leading the LUNAR project funded by the European Research Council, which aims to investigate a universal representation of language.
