Pau Joan Hernández was born in Barcelona and lives in Bigues i Riells (Vallès Oriental). He started writing very young, and at eighteen was published his first novel. Since then, he has published over thirty books, mostly aimed at children and young people.

He is also a translator and for many years was literary critic of the catalan newspaper Avui. Currently, he teaches at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting.
