Carla Gracia Mercadé (Barcelona, 1980) holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and is a professor at UIC. She has published the novels ‘Set dies de Gràcia’ —winner of the Alghero Donna Award for Literature and Journalism in Rome—, ‘L’abisme’ and ‘Ens recordaran’, as well as the biography ‘Amb ulls de dona’, all with Univers publishing house. She was the director of the TV program ‘La pàgina en blanc’ and scriptwriter for ‘Cibercrims’ and the short film ‘Els que callen’, which won 12 awards and was nominated for a Goya. Her son’s autism diagnosis led to a profound reevaluation of her life and inspired her to co-direct the documentary Les bones intencions (30’, TV3) and to write from a place that is more stripped-down, courageous, and sincere.
