Ángeles Doñate was born in Barcelona. She’s the firstborn of 5 and grew up in a house full of light, adopted animals and books. The eight-year-old who used to sneakily read under the bed sheets with a flashlight decided to study journalism. Her passion for written and spoken words became her profession. For years she worked as a communications manager for various social and educational organizations, as well as a journalist. She has been part of different social projects from her home city as well as Latin America. One day, by chance, she published a book, “¿Quieres un consejo?”. This book opened up a new path for her within the forest of words, which guided her to other non-fiction books such as travel guides or biographies. “El invierno que tomamos cartas en el asunto” (Ediciones B), which was her first solo novel and has been translated to 11 languages. To this work she added “El alma de la radio” (Urano), “El último vagón” (with a movie adaptation made by Netflix), “Un té para curar el alma” (cowriten with Francesc Miralles) and La vida en una taza de té (Plata), her last published book.
