Our own Jordi Campoy has been awarded the 59th Prudenci Bertrana Prize for Fiction for his book Fer cantar els arbres (in English: make the trees sing).

Here at Sandra Bruna, we are thrilled about this well-deserved award for Jordi Campoy. After several excellent novels, we take this award as a recognition of his literary journey, his growth as an author, and a testament to how far dedication, effort, and passion can take you. And on top of everything, the Prudenci Bertrana Prize is one of the most prestigious awards in Catalan literature.

Fer cantar els arbres follows a family of luthiers, a family in which several generations have been woven together in an intriguing mystery. But it is also an exploration of beauty, imperfection, nature, and how human beings relate to it, as well as art and how it shapes our meaning of life. The jury specifically highlighted the combination of mystery and meditations on themes such as artistic sensibility, families, and their legacies.

In September, the original Catalan-language edition will be available in bookstores, published by Columna, and the official ceremony will take place on September 15 during the Nit Literària in Girona.
