The Moroccan Rif region, 1980s. Malika knows she is different, and after her mother’s death, that difference begins to weigh on her. Everything changes when she meets Souad. The two young women find refuge in each other’s arms. Refuge from their families, the societal expectations they are forced to conform with, and the pressures of religion.
But their relationship will put everything they have left at risk, and when they are discovered together, they will be forced to make a decision: to flee, or to stay, but never see each other again. Unless they find another way to stay together. A moving exploration of forbidden love and of the true meaning of the word home.
