Verónica Cervilla (Linares, Jaén, 1987) is a writer and screenwriter. Her work is characterized by the exploration of the unsettling and the emotional, with stories that move between mystery, horror, and historical fiction, where memory, social themes, and the darker sides of human nature take center stage.
She has published novels such as La bruja de Biertan, Dibujos en las rocas (Selecta, Penguin Random House), Quién cuidará de ti (Literup), with which she won the 4th Ripley Prize, and El décimo círculo (Ediciones B). Her latest novel is Cuando callan las montañas (Ediciones B). As a screenwriter, she has worked with production companies such as Warner Bros Spain.
Between 2018 and 2021, she directed the literary magazine Tártarus, nominated for the Ignotus Awards, as well as the literary festival of the same name, from which she promoted fantasy and horror literature in Spain. In that same vein, she created and hosted the podcast Quién dijo miedo, focused on analyzing the genre.
She has been giving workshops and talks on writing and film for over a decade. She currently resides in Gran Canaria, where she is the founder of Book Vibes Canarias, an initiative dedicated to building a reading community through literary events.
