Virginia Garzón de Albiol (Barcelona, 1975) holds a law degree from Pompeu Fabra University and has two master’s degrees from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, one in Development Studies and another in Animal Law and Society. Convinced that the world can be a better place to live, she has worked with Fundació per la Pau, Fundación Vicente Ferrer, Educación Sin Fronteras, and Oxfam Intermón. She has also served as an expert for the European Commission in Uruguay.

In love with reading and writing—thanks in part to the harsh Belgian climate she endured during her secondary school and high school years in Brussels—she has published the novels Un tesoro en el olvido (Ediciones B, 2023) and Queridísima Juana (Avant Editorial, 2015). She has also contributed stories about women to the collection Desconocidas & Fascinantes (Editorial Egales, 2013) and the short story Humo to the anthology Cuento Atrás (Editorial Hijos del Hule, 2009).

Committed to highlighting the cheerful and positive side of life, she publishes a weekly text on her blog Defensa de la alegría.
